Question by Snow: Was there ever an episode of George Lopez for these events?
Throughout the series, George references events that I haven’t yet seen. Two in particular are the times when Carmen smokes a cigarette. Another time is when Carmine participates in a hip-hop music video. I know she went to see Chingy when she ran away but she didn’t say anything about a video then. Were there any episodes dedicated to either of these?

Best answer:

Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Club To Host The First Ever All-Muslim Comedy Festival

Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) May 7, 2004

Muslim Comedy Festival part of the “Allah Made Me Funny” Official Muslim Comedy Tour. Muslim Comedy Festival will feature some of Canada’s top Muslim comics. Yuk Yuk’s downtown Toronto location will host the first-ever All-Muslim Comedy Festival, announced Mark Breslin, CEO of Yuk Yuk’s.

The All-Muslim Comedy Festival, which will take place on May 26 and will run through May 29, is the only Canadian stop on the “Allah Made Me Funny- Official Muslim Comedy Tour”.

Headlining the four-day comedy festival is Preacher Moss, one of North America’s top Muslim comics.

According to George Lopez from ABC television’s hit series, The George Lopez Show, “Preacher Moss is not just a comedian for the Muslim community, but a teacher for the world.”

According to Preacher Moss, “The purpose of my comedy reflects my Islamic beliefs that say we, as Muslims, cannot be isolationist. My choice of dialogue is laughter, with a message of overall commitment to improving society as a whole.”

Master of Ceremonies for the Muslim Comedy Festival is Toronto actor and comedian, Enis Esmer.

Esmer is best known for his role as the host of The Toronto Show and has appeared in numerous film and television productions including Queer As Folk and Decoys, and is a former VJ Host with MuchMusic in Toronto.

“The Muslim Comedy Festival is an opportunity to showcase some of Toronto’s best Muslim Comics as well as an opportunity to promote tolerance and understanding of other cultures using comedy as the medium,” said Breslin.

The All-Muslim Comedy Festival will also include Toronto-based comedienne Sabrina Jalees and Rassoul Samji. Joining them on-stage will be comics Azeem and Azhar Usman, who are both on-tour with the “Allah Made Me Funny – Official Muslim Comedy Tour”.

“Comedy comes from many different places and has many different messages. The messages we are sending out with the Muslim Comedy Festival is that laughter breaks all barriers no matter what peoples’ beliefs or backgrounds are,” Breslin said.

Ticket prices for the shows are as follows: Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday shows are $ 10. Friday and Saturday shows are $ 17.

Tickets can be purchased through the reservation line at 416-967-6425 and picked up at the Yuk Yuk’s box office located at 224 Richmond Street West, which opens at 7:30 p.m.

Muslim Comedy Act Comes to Bay Area: Area Muslims attempt to get their message out through comedy

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) December 3, 2005

The ‘Allah Made Me Funny’ Comedy Tour is stopping in Santa Clara on Friday and Saturday, January 20 and 21st at the Muslim Community Association.

The tour features three of America’s best known Muslim comedians including Preacher Moss, the tour’s producer and a former writer for George Lopez, Saturday Night Live’s Darrel Hammond and Damon Wayans. Moss shares the comedy stage with nationally recognized stand-up comedians Azhar Usman (nicknamed the Ayatollah of Comedy) who is an attorney turned comedian and Azeem, a stand-up comic, activist and founder of Azeem’s Kids Foundation, a charity dedicated to helping children who are in foster and juvenile care.

Allah Made Me Funny has been crisscrossing North America and UK, bringing both laughs and insight. While the comedy business is competitive, Moss views this tour as something different.

Moss has quite a comedy pedigree, having worked with Dave Chappelle and Paul Mooney and written for, amongst others, the George Lopez Show on ABC and Saturday Night Live. His concern with society and the human condition is long-standing.

For Moss, comedy was a kind of social work, and it blended with the other work he did after leaving school — counselling the underprivileged and teaching emotionally disturbed kids in Milwaukee and Los Angeles.

As producer of “Allah Made Me Funny–The Official Muslim Comedy Tour,” Moss uses humor to address cultural and racial stereotypes, to encourage Muslims not to be isolationists and to educate Muslims and non-Muslims about tolerance.

“I call it a communition,” he says. “That means we’re competing to see the community get better, get stronger–and that’s the Muslim community and the non-Muslim community. It’s like one big barbecue … I call it the open house on humanity.”

Allah Made Me Funny: The Official Muslim Comedy Tour

Where: Muslim Community Association, 3003 Scott Blvd., Santa Clara

When: 6 p.m. Friday & Saturday January 20th and 21ST 2006

Tickets: $ 20

Question by Shelly M: How many ratings does George Lopez get?
On his late night show on TBS. I’m really curious with all this drama over late night television to see how many people George is pooling in to see him! I’d also appreciate it if someone could tell me how much money he earns a year for doing the late night show. Thanks!
